Steve is currently Director of Planning and Environment at Buckinghamshire Council with responsibility for regeneration and growth, environment and climate change services. Aswell as working to bring together the 5 legacy Councils into the new unitary Council key projects include; preparing a single Local Plan for Buckinghamshire, adopting a Climate Change Strategy for Bucks, helping to deliver major capital investment projects including £180m HIF funding, delivering the Aylesbury Garden Town and supporting major regeneration schemes at Westcott, Silverstone and Pinewood.
Prior to moving into the unitary Council, Steve was Chief Executive at both Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils with overall responsibility for council operations working closely with elected Councillors and partners from public, private and third sector organisations to achieve improvements across the two districts of Chiltern and South Bucks and to deliver quality services. Providing leadership in a time of significant change and acting as the Councils lead officer on the unitary programme. Steve also lead on engagement in relation to Oxford to Cambridge growth corridor, HS2 and Heathrow expansion.
Steve has held a number of other senior positions, in the South East, the Midlands and the North East, and has delivered improvements to planning and other local government services, lead the delivery of a number of Local Plans and been involved in the delivery of significant high profile economic development and regeneration projects.
