Matthew has been a Senior Director of Lichfields since 2008. He specialises in housing and local economic growth and helps clients generate value through strategic land promotion, particularly for large-scale developments including Garden Villages.
Current projects include delivering on allocations of 3,500 homes at Long Marston Airfield and 5,000 homes at Milton Keynes East. Other recent experience includes working on airport expansion at Heathrow, helping corporate and developer clients shape their real estate investment priorities, and giving expert evidence on the horse racing industry to two public inquiries as part of the ten-year planning saga of Hatchfield Farm, Newmarket.
Matthew also gives strategic direction to Lichfields’ award-winning research and insight agenda. Lichfields is the UK’s pre-eminent planning and development consultancy – employee-owned and with over 220 people operating out of nine offices.
Matthew is recognised for his knowledge of plan-making, and in 2016 was an advisor on the DCLG Local Plans Expert Group. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Repton Property Developments – the company established by Norfolk County Council to develop its surplus land for housing.
